Division of Cell and Molecular Biology was started as a distinct research lab in the PG and Research Department of Zoology, St. Joseph's College (Autonomous), Devagiri in 2021. Our motto is "सर्वञ्जता विकसाय" which means "All knowingness for development". We works on the management of chronic and infectious diseases using natural products. Among these, the functional foods and nutraceuticals are being focused for further development in to value added products. Besides, anticancer drug discovery from plant extracts and synthesis of green pesticides from plant essential oils are also given importance. My team also works on the molecular mechanism of action of these drug candidates such as functional foods employing cell and animal models
